He was born in Mersin. His first music teacher was his father, saxophonist Mümin Şallıel, and he began studying jazz saxophone at the age of 9. He participated in the 13th Nardis International Young Jazz Competition with his older brother Anıl Şallıel. When they were 13-14 years old, they took the stage at Nardis and Kanyon Shopping Center with the Şallıel Bros project. They took part in many projects and album recordings. In 2012, they founded Şallıel Bros What da Funk Project and performed at Ghetto with world famous vocalists. In 2013, they gave a concert with Italian jazz guitarist Nicola Conte as part of International Jazz Day. As Şallıel Bros, they took part in the stage performances and album recordings of many artists and bands. Şallıel Brothers took part in projects such as Ne Da Funk Project, Önder Focan Standard A La Turc, Önder Focan & Şallıel Bros Funkbook, Aşkın Arsunan Jazzino Band and Istanbul Superband. Saxophone and flute player Batu Şallıel entered the London School of Music certificate program in Turkey in 2010 and graduated with honors. In 2014, at the age of 19, he won the Grand Prix at the Young Jazz Saxophone Competition in Riga.
