Yagmur Sena, winner of the 17th Nardis Young Jazz Vocal Competition, was born on June 3, 1997 in Istanbul and lived in Izmir throughout her childhood and youth. During her high school education, she participated in various music competitions and received awards. She completed her undergraduate education on jazz vocal at Yaşar University Music Department as the third in the department. In this process, she had the opportunity to work with names such as Emre Kartari, Valentin Conus, Devrim Yeşilpınar and Timuçin Şahin. She did vocal studies with Elif Çağlar and Ece Göksu. She attended the “Siena Jazz International Summer Workshop” in 2018 and experienced different approaches to European jazz and contemporary music with musicians from different countries of the world. During this period, she had the opportunity to work with Theo Bleckmann, Henry Cole, Chris Tordini, Roberto Cecchetto, Diana Torto, Jen Shyu and Francesco Martinelli. She continues her master’s education with thesis in English, which she is writing on “New Orleans, Louis Armstrong and the scat relationship” at Yaşar University.
