Ayşen Zülfikar started her music education at the Istanbul University State Conservatory Part-Time Voice Department and represented Kadıköy Anatolian High School and became the first in Turkey in the “Best Soloist” category at the Milliyet Inter-High School Music Competition. During her undergraduate education at the Istanbul University State Conservatory Voice Department, she performed as a soloist on stages such as the Atatürk Cultural Center, Cemal Reşit Rey Concert Hall and the Italian Cultural Center. She was also awarded second place in the National Siemens Voice Competition; in addition to her voice education, she worked in the field of musical theater and gave concerts accompanied by symphony orchestras.

After graduating from the university, Zülfikar was accepted to the Milan Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory and continued his education in Italy, winning scholarships from İş Sanat, the Eczacıbaşı Foundation and the Ministry of Culture. In 2002, he won first prize in the International San Remo Classica Competition, where the head of the jury was Andrea Bocelli, and took part as a soloist in festivals in San Remo. The artist, who participated in masterclasses with instructors from Milan’s La Scala Opera, sang the role of Lauretta in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi opera at the Milan Rosetum Theater.

While working as a soloist at the Istanbul State Opera and Ballet, she took part in operas such as La Serva Padrona, Le Nozze di Figaro and Orphée et Eurydice and performed in gala concerts and recitals.

Ayşen Zülfikar, who works with Randy Esen on jazz vocals and improvisation, takes place in the jazz scene with jazz, Latin and ethnic fusion projects. Drawing attention with her storytelling and emotional depth, Zülfikar has three singles released with the Kalan Music label.
