Ayhan Öztoplu was born in Izmir. Öztoplu, who started playing drums at the age of 8, his first concert was at the Izmir open-air theater at the age of 13. Öztoplu moved to Istanbul at a very young age and worked with famous musicians of Turkey. He worked with many names such as Ayşegül Aldinç, İlhan İrem, Sertap Erener. Öztoplu, who has always been interested in jazz since his early ages, moved to Berlin to study jazz. In this city, where he lived for 9 years, he worked with great musicians such as Billy Kilson, Dave Weckl, Chad Weckerman, Erns Bier, Werner Terichen. He studied at Berlin Hanns Eisler Music School. He performed in important jazz clubs in Berlin. He participated in numerous concerts and festivals. He played with Aziza Mustafa Zadeh on his European tour. Later, Öztoplu returned to Turkey and played in festivals with all jazz musicians. With world-famous jazz musicians of worldwide, among them are Kirk Lightsey, Ricky Ford, Francesca Tandoi, Stefano Senni, Aziza Mustafa Zadeh, Kerem Görsev, Erkan Oğur, Fatih Erkoç, Tuna Ötenel, Önder Focan, Şenova Ülker, Sibel Köse and Neşet Ruacan.
