Melif’s (Andre Williams) hometown is Lawnside, New Jersey. This town, located north of the 1840 Mason-Dixon Line, is the first independent legal self-government of blacks, established by the gathering of freed and escaped slaves. Melif, both as a performance artist and as a presenter, has a long history in jazz history. A loyal and powerful representative of Lawnside’s legacy. Both as a performance artist and as a presenter, Melif is a loyal and strong representative of the legacy of Lawnside, which has a long and important place in jazz history. Melif has a voice that is immediately striking, different from the majority of his contemporaries, and uniquely warm and inviting in color. He achieves what every songwriter wants and hopes for: he tells a story through his song. The listener can easily sit back and feel the story of the song, with his flawless narration that does not rush the lyrics. The musicians accompanying Melif, who has established many friendships over the years as a member of the jazz community, in his new CD are prominent musicians like him who share the same feeling: saxophonist Joe Ford, a member of the McCoy Tyner band for twenty years, along with Elvin Jones. guitarist Marvin Home, who played in concerts and recordings as a band member.
