Fuat Tuaç, who started his musical life in Istanbul, went to Montreal, Canada in 2011 and studied “Jazz Vocal” at Concordia University. During his student years, he performed regularly at Upstairs and Diese Onze, the most important jazz bars in Montreal. In 2017, he released his debut album “Late Bloomer”, which was a huge success. In 2018, he moved to Toronto and immediately started to mingle with Toronto musicians and started to give concerts. During the Covid period, he wrote songs for his new album, Immigrant. The album was released in May 2023 and reached number 11 on the Canadian jazz charts and number 18 on the US jazz charts, and is still frequently played on US and Canadian radio. On his new album “Immigrant”, Fuat worked with Canada’s best jazz musicians and was accompanied by the hyper creative guitarist Eric St-Laurent, the trompetist, Kevin Turcotte, who played the trumpet solos in the film “Born To Be Blue” about Chet Baker’s life, Juno award nominee Eric West on drums and Jordan O’Connor on double bass. The album is in three languages; English, French and of course his native Turkish. Kim Richardson, one of Canada’s most famous jazz singers, sang a duet with Fuat on the song Chez Moi.
